Women's Studies Certificate Program

The TCU Women's Studies Program offers a Certificate in Women's Studies, which is available on the M.A., M. Ed., Ed. D., and Ph.D. degrees in Art History, Biblical Interpretation, Education, English, History, Pastoral Theology, and Pastoral Care.

The Certificate recognizes a student's intensive investigation of issues in Women's Studies in the context of her or his regular disciplinary graduate work.

Why apply?
For the academic rigor and synergy that comes from studying in a dynamic interdisciplinary program. Also, the Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies appreciably enhances your marketability for university positions. Many academic positions in the fields of English, History, and Religion, for example, list Women's Studies training or sub-field expertise as desirable or required for tenure-track positions.

When should I apply?
As soon as possible! You do not need to have completed the coursework in order to apply. Indeed, it is best that you submit your application in your first semester at TCU.

How do I apply?
Download the Graduate Certificate Applications Form from the women's studies website (http:www.womenstudies.tcu.edu) and email it to the director of women's studies, Laura Prestwood (l.prestwood@tcu.edu).
